Who we are

We’re a multinational couple who first met in Malaysia 13 years ago. Before having children, most of our lives were spent on the road — backpacking around the world, developing our professional career training horses, and seeking out experiences that kept us close to animals and the outdoors. Wherever we travelled, we always found ourselves drawn to wildlife, national parks, and the chance to learn about how people live alongside nature.

Four years ago, we had our first child, and recently our second. Sharing our love of animals and nature with them has been one of the best parts of becoming parents. We’ve seen how quickly children develop respect, curiosity, and appreciation for the world when they spend time in nature, and we believe those lessons are just as important as anything learned in a classroom.

This website is our way of passing on what we’ve discovered — combining our experiences as travellers, parents, and animal lovers to help other families plan their own journeys. Our hope is that by sharing what’s worked for us, we can make it easier for other parents to give their kids the same chance to connect with wildlife, explore new places, and learn from the world around them.

Alessandra Equine

Alessandra Equine is our horse breaking-in and pre-training business, built on a lifetime of working with animals. After years spent training and caring for horses professionally, we founded Alessandra Equine as the culmination of that experience.

Our work with horses has shaped the way we see the world and deepened our appreciation for the bond between humans and animals. It’s also one of the driving forces behind our family’s passion for travel, wildlife, and giving our children a meaningful connection to the natural world — values we now share through The Parents’ Guide to Nature & Travel.
